The winter semester has started with students returning after a much-needed break. In this winter term, the students combine class time with a practicum placement where they work for an employer in the community. The students will create an integrated marketing communications plan for their employer between now and April.
Placements vary and include tech start-ups, manufacturers, service providers, professional associations, and not-for-profits.
Back at school they study project management and business practices for corporate communicators as well as graphic design, media relations and event management. Keeping with the integrated nature of the program, the students will also be working on two significant events that will include components from several courses.
In preparation for the job interviews many hope to secure at the end of their education, the students will also be developing a professional portfolio that will reflect their skills and abilities.
