Individual Unpaid Work Placement

In second semester, students work for a business or organization to develop an IMC plan as a requirement for one of their second semester courses. The IMC placement is a total of 80 hours.  The employer is not required to compensate the student for this time; however,

The employer agrees to

  1. Provide a realistic work setting, with expectations that align with what is expected of any employee regarding attendance and reporting.
  2. Provide the time and information the student needs to develop an integrated marketing communications plan for the business (or any aspect of the business).
  3. Meet with a member of the college faculty at some time through the placement for feedback.
  4. Complete an evaluation form at the end of the placement and return it to the college.

You will be asked to complete a brief job description and you will have an opportunity to interview an interested student, or students.  Faculty work to match skills and interests of students to employer expectations.
